GCS Athletics Philosophy
The purpose of Grace Christian Athletics is to develop character, friendship, loyalty, and cooperation among individuals by utilizing the Biblical principles of work , diligence, unity, and self control.
Athletics is one of life’s greatest class rooms. In it, peaks of victory and valleys of defeat are experienced. Using Biblical principles in athletic activities can help mold spiritual maturity.
Mission Statement
To prepare Christian athletes by assisting them in the development of their intellect, their character, their physical development and their self control while teaching them unity and to glorify God in all things. (Luke 2:52)
Goals and Objectives
Grace Christian School is striving to meet the following objectives through its’ athletic program:
1. TO HONOR THE LORD JESUS CHRIST We believe the most important facet of any program of the school is to honor the Lord Jesus Christ in attitudes and actions. (I Corinthians 10:31)  2. TO BUILD CHRISTIAN CHARACTER We desire to instill principles for future living in the life of each athlete. (Deuteronomy 6:1-7)
3. TO DEVELOP A BALANCED WINNING SPIRIT We desire to exert every honest effort to play well in every game and to accept victory or defeat with a spirit and testimony of honor. (Ecclesiastes 9:10) 4. TO BUILD STRENGTH AND COURAGE The physical pressures of athletics demand that athletes be physically and mentally disciplined. (I Corinthians 6:19-20)
5. TO SINCERELY ENJOY ATHLETICS We desire our athletes to enjoy their high school athletic experience and to see the fruits of their hard work and dedication. (Proverbs 3:27)
Grace Christian Athletics endeavors to portray an attitude and testimony that will bring honor to our Lord Jesus Christ and to our school. It is the goal of all coaches, and athletes to be effective in lifting up Christ for His Glory.
